The Tasting
Forget the DeLorean and theoretical physics; the true way to time travel is through taste. Join the Essex County Wine Society as we guide you through a remarkable wine experience that harks back to 1983—a year when The Police released "Every Breath You Take," a loaf of bread cost just 66 cents, and an Opus One was the groundbreaking (and most expensive) California wine at $50 a bottle.
On Thursday, February 5, 2026, the Essex County Wine Society will host "Art of Cellaring," pouring fifteen rare, cellared selections from prestigious regions. This exclusive event features a 99-point Pomerol and seven fully matured adult wines with over 18 years of age since their harvest.
Experience firsthand how wines "improve with age," tasting vintages that were vinified as the internet was born and the iPod was invented. Every wine lover and enthusiast—whether a newcomer, current member, or previous attendee—is welcome to attend.
